The first Adult Care Worker apprentice ever!

The first adult care worker apprentice completed with a merit.

Another first for healthcare apprenticeships

The first apprentice has completed the new Adult Care Worker standard.

Creative Support is the first provider in the country to successfully deliver the new Adult Care Worker standard. Their apprentice completed the level 2 programme on time and achieved a merit.

The standard is new to everyone, so Creative Support has had to adapt their delivery throughout the journey. But this is something Creative Support is used to. They take a person-centred approach to delivery and are flexible to their apprentices' needs. They want to help people build confidence, realise their dreams and achieve their goals – a philosophy we follow at OneFile too. Our learning software is designed to help people reach their full potential, so it's no wonder Creative Support partnered with us to deliver apprenticeships. They use our software to manage the whole apprenticeship process – from setting up the standards to getting apprentices through the gateway. Janet Glentworth, vocational centre manager at Creative Support, had this to say, 'OneFile were extremely helpful in setting up the new standards and through the whole programme were responsive and accommodating to our needs – and more importantly, the learners' needs.

The first of many

Creative Support is leading the way in healthcare apprenticeships. They used to self-fund their level 3 training, but since the apprenticeship levy was introduced last year, they've switched to apprenticeships. 'We rose to the challenge of the new standards, trailblazed the trailblazer, gave staff the most up-to-date training, and used OneFile's wonderful system to manage the whole process,' said Janet.

It's this kind of forward-thinking that's helped them become the UK's first provider to complete the new Adult Care Worker standard. And with OneFile by their side, there'll be much more to come from Creative Support in the future. 'This is a great achievement for both parties. We're looking forward to working with OneFile to become the first employer-provider to achieve the Lead Adult Care apprenticeship.'

Learning from the best

The Adult Care Worker standard is split into 3 sections – on-programme learning, the Care Certificate and end-point assessment. When all 3 sections have been completed, the apprentice is then awarded their grade.

Managing each section of the new standards with multiple learners can be complex, which is why many high-quality providers – like Creative Support – use OneFile. We've built loads of new features to help you manage the new standards – like an off-the-job tracker, portfolio showcase tool, assessment grading and virtual learning environment.

You can use OneFile to deliver all types of vocational training – from nursing apprenticeships to the Care Certificate – so all your learner data is stored in the same place. This means tutors can log in to 1 system to monitor progress, send feedback and plan activities. There's no paperwork or logging in and out of different platforms, everything you need is always at your fingertips.

OneFile can be used for a range of roles across healthcare and the NHS – this means higher quality training, faster completions and increased efficiencies across the board! Creative Support aren't the only provider benefiting from OneFile. GMMH (Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation) has implemented OneFile across their trust and are already feeling the benefits
